Granite Fabrication and Installation

Granite countertops are very popular these days due to their beauty and durability. On the other hand, granite adds significant expense to a kitchen remodeling project.

Unless you can install a granite countertop yourself, you need to hire professional granite contractors to do the installation for you. Our granite fabricators are thoroughly familiar with characteristics of various granites and posses professional expertise in countertop design, templating, and countertop installation.

Marble Mantels not only provides the best in state-of-the-art granite fabrication using C.N.C. technology, but also ensures the highest quality of counter top templating using laser technology. Our stone milling C.N.C. machines allow for perfect granite counter top sink cut-outs and edge profiles. We use laser technology to custom template your countertops. By using CNC machines, we save time and resources, while keeping the highest standards of quality. Computerized quality control makes a chance of mistake close to zero. Increased precision and accuracy reduces the amount of wasted material. Why are these machines so important? Without them, all of the fabrication would have to be done by hand. It's a slow and tedious process, which requires more labor. The cost of hand fabrication is much higher because more people and time are needed to complete the job. Most fabricators do "dry-cutting" to save time - they do not use water to polish the stone. Not using water results in a low quality finish on the edges of the stone. The edges look dull and once you swipe your hand along the edge, you will feel bumps and unevenness. With CNC technology, these problems are gone. Our machinery always uses water, and since it is controlled by a computer, it follows the line of the edge perfectly, keeping constant pressure on the stone. That guarantees smooth, shiny edges without the bumps.

At the time of template, the countertops should be cleared off and the customer should be on-site to review any corners with a radius, seam locations, overhangs, and any other issues, which commonly arise.

We ask that all sink, cook top, color, and edge selections be made before or shortly after template. Any changes to the tops after template must be submitted and approved in writing. These changes may incur additional expenses and may delay installation.

After template, your now digitized tops are drafted in an computer CAD program with your sink and cook top selections. These drawings are then printed off onto a plastic template material which will be used when cutting out your tops. Although granite is very durable when it's installed properly, it's not un-breakable.

It can be chipped or cracked if it's struck a sharp blow by a heavy object. It can also break if it's dropped during installation. It is not flexible, and will crack if it is forced to twist or bend. Therefore, granite should only be handled by professionals and must always be adequately supported by proper framing or cabinetry.

We Template, Supply, Fabricate and Install Kitchen counter tops with large variety of edges, under mount sink cutouts with grooves or pitch boards. We also make Island tops with polish under the overhang, bar tops with bar rail recess. We take special orders of windowsills, marble or granite tabletops, bases, cutting boards, flower vases. There is new line of granite doorknobs and marble electric outlets to match your tops. We install marble, granite, or ceramic floor and wall tiles. Tile or slab backsplash ideas are available for any project. Kitchen Countertop remodeling ideas are also available.

Most counters are installed with a standard overhang of 1" with a standard or custom edge. A special edge creates an additional installation challenge and usually results in extra cost.

The Backsplash is usually made from the same granite used for the counters, but it can be glass tile, ceramic tile, or some other product. It may be attached to the counter or to the wall, but in either case the seam between the counter and the back splash will be sealed with caulk. The standard height for a back splash is 4" although they're frequently made higher if the customer desires.

Kitchen tile backsplash are great for decorating your home. A tile backsplash is waterproof and is available in a variety of color, styles and textures. You can get a glass tile backsplash or a ceramic tile backsplash. Caesar Stone had the revolutionary idea of using quartz - one of nature's hardest materials Superior to other manufactured and stone surfaces, Caesar Stones' extraordinary physical properties soon became internationally recognized. Caesar Stone is the original quartz-based engineered stone primarily used for kitchen countertops and bathroom vanity tops. Silestone counter tops offer some of the same perks as granite, but many believe they are more beautiful and durable. Silestone counter tops are made out of natural quartz. With the ranking as the fourth hardest mineral in nature being held by quartz, these counter tops are known and loved for their durability. Silestone countertops are some of the best choices on the market for stain and scratch resistance, as well. With only a few minerals tougher than quartz, doing damage to these counter tops is almost impossible.
